Question by : is it unreasonably expensive to buy the necessary parts items for using a cricut?
I am considering giving my 10 and 12 year old daughters a Cricut for Christmas, but wonder if it is extremely expensive to by cartridges and all the needed items to make using it fun.

If you're talking about a circuit builder (turn on lights, run motors and the like) then I believe they have things like that at Radio shack for relatively inexpensive. I found a couple on line from $ 40-$ 200, it just depends on how intricate you want to get.
